Steps to Ensure You Have Coverage
Steps
To ensure that you have coverage for nutrition services I suggest you first call your insurance company (number on the back of your card) and ask them the following questions:

-
Does my plan cover nutrition service codes (97802 and 97803)?
-
Is my plan limited to coverage of only specific diagnosis? (If this is the case I can provide you with a list of different codes to check).
-
Does my plan have a copayment and if so what is the amount for nutrition services?
-
Does my plan cover telehealth services?
-
Do I need a doctors referral before seeing a dietitian nutritionist?
-
Do I have a deductible I need to meet before services are covered and if so how much more until I meet that deductible?
